One more year, San Pedro Alcantara dresses up to celebrate the festivities in honor of its patron. A Fair with a participatory programming for all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest people.
San Pedro Fair 2016 will take place from 17 to 23 October, it is the last big party of Marbella and one of the most expected events afer summer. The most important day is October 19, day of the festival of San Pedro Alcantara, the day of the Patron. Both the fair day and the night are very famous, even more than Marbella Fair, so many people from outside the municipality visit San Pedro during these days.
The night fair takes place at Calle Jorge Guillen (where every Thursday take place the marke), while the day occupies the main streets of the town. But San Pedro Fair is famous because of the celebrations on the street, between booths and enjoying the essence of the place.
Key dates of San Pedro de Alcántara Fair 2016
The beginning is on Monday October 17th with a parade of Giants that will start from Plaza de la Iglesia at 19:00. That same night, at 21:30 fireworks will then officially open the fair, the opening speech will be read, it will be crowned the Queens, Ladies and Miss Congeniality and the Popular Queen.
On Tuesday 18 Fair opens with several musical performances and then you can enjoy the booths, each with its own particular programming. At night you can dance at Caseta Municipal, where you can also attend the concert ‘Aslántico’ from 23.30 pm.
On Wednesday 19, religious events will take place in honor of the Patron San Pedro de Alcántara (Eucharist, Mass and procession). Then back to the booths and in the afternoon there will be a contest of Sevillanas in the booth ‘My Home’. At night several groups perform at Municipal Caseta, “Art Club”, “Falconetti” and “Rockinger Z”.
Thursday and Friday will be many more activities for children and adults at the fairgrounds and in the booths. Friday will be the Grand Parade and act ‘Social Security’ in the Municipal booth. The most important performance by Antonio Orozco will be on Saturday at 23:30 hours. The finishing touch to the Fair will be on Sunday, with plenty of dancing and contests.
