As every year, Marbella celebrates its Patron on June 11 with San Bernabé Fair, representing the great feasts of Marbella and from Centro Plaza we want to give us some clues and dissemination of this edition.
These days, the city commemorates the reconquest of Marbella by the Catholic Monarchs in 1485 and during the week people of Marbella and tourists enjoy a traditional and colorful Andalusian fair.
Preparations for the 2016 San Bernabe Fair go ahead and everything is almost defined in the program. The main news of Marbella festivities this year will be around the Fair during de day at the center of the city, located in the Paseo de la Alameda and Avenida del Mar.
Key dates of Marbella Fair 2016
The beginning of everything is on 5 June with the traditional Romería leaving from ‘Casa Hermandad Romeros de San Bernabé’. Then, from 12.00, activities will begin at the Pinar de Nagüeles.
The opening of the Fair is the 6th at 22:00 in Marina Marbella, where the opening speech will be read, will be crowned the Queens, Ladies and Miss Congeniality, will be elected to the Popular Queen and may be enjoy the fireworks display.
In addition, this year one of the highlights of the fair will be the performances of three great figures of Spanish music, Loquillo (9 June), the youthful trio Sweet California (June 10) and Merche (11 June). Three major musical events that Marbella will have the opportunity to enjoy the Feria de San Bernabe.
But this is not the only attraction of the festivities, as there will also be activities like a children’s party on June 8, a parade of giants and big heads on day 10 or a contest of dance schools on June 12, while on 11th the events will be held in honor of the Patron, St. Bernabé, with civic and religious to the Cross of Calvary procession.
