Centro Plaza was honoured to attend the last Gala Against Cancer in Marbella, organised by the Spanish Association Against Cancer. This event, which celebrated its thirty-ninth edition, marked a historic milestone with 620 attendees, exceeding by more than 20% the initial capacity planned for 500 people at the Finca de la Concepción
Ticket sales generated €170,000, consolidating the gala as Spain’s most important charity event by raising more than €200,000 in a single night. In addition, the auction, the raffle and the Row Zero added €20,000, ensuring a final balance higher than in previous editions. All profits will be used to finance research projects and free programmes for patients and families in Marbella, including new nutrition initiatives, speech therapy and courses to stop smoking.
The gala was attended by prominent figures such as Santiago Gómez-Villares, president of the Local Board of the AECC in Marbella, and Joaquín Morales Rubio, president of the Provincial Board in Málaga. In his speech, Gómez-Villares underlined the importance of volunteers and thanked the City Council and companies for their collaboration. The gala also served as the setting for the presentation of The Fighter award to actress Lara Dibildos for her contribution to the normalisation of cancer and her example of personal improvement.
During the event, several companies were recognised for their commitment to the AECC, including Aalto Exclusive Design, Hospitales Pascual, and Puerto Banús Marbella 1970. The organisation collaborated with the Marbella City Council and Finca La Concepción. Derraíz, from the Gorki group, served the dinner with the participation of other prominent gastronomic firms.
From Centro Plaza, we would like to congratulate the AECC for the resounding success of this gala and reiterate our commitment to the cause, supporting those who fight against cancer and contributing to research to eradicate this disease.
Congratulations on this impressive achievement, and we will continue together in this fight!
