The 1st Solidarity Race Centro Plaza was officially presented on Wednesday 9 November at a press conference in the Press Room of Marbella Town Hall. Sport and solidarity are the cornerstones of this initiative, thereby promoting the benefits of healthy living by developing sports activities and also helping those people most in need.

The race, whose proceeds will go entirely to the Spanish Red Cross, will have 8 km long and will run through the streets of Nueva Andalucía (Marbella) on 13 December. To highlight the wide range of categories, from baby to veteran, including a career adapted. In addition, there will be a collection point for toys and, after the race, entertainment for younger and a Zumba master class.

Antonio Garcia Lopez, head of the Department of Sports of Marbella, was responsible for introducing the race and was grateful to Centro Plaza by this joint initiative linked to sport. Then spoke Oscar Fernandez Bracho, manager of Central Plaza, who thanked sponsors and partners for their help and explained some details of the race.

Alejandro Fernández Meléndez, Director of Relief and Emergency ofthe Spanish Red Cross, said that is the first charity race with which Red Cross will collaborate in Marbella and was grateful. At this event, the partnership agreement of Central Plaza and Spanish Red Cross was also signed.

The presentation was also attended by Kamal Abdel Rahman, owner of DY Gym Marbella, the first worldwide Dorian Yates gym, which along with Café Yanx, American restaurant located in Centro Plaza run by David Fisher, are the main sponsors of the race .

Registration can be done through the portal ‘Dorsalchip’ and in the website of Centro Plaza (www.centroplaza.es) until December 12. There is also the possibility to sign the same day of the race at the start area (Avenida José Banus, Puerto Banus) from 8:00 to 9:00 am in the morning.

The registration fee for the 1st Solidarity Race Centro Plaza Marbella is 6 euros for adults and 3 euros for children, which will go entirely to the Spanish Red Cross. The collection of numbers is the day of the test at 8:00 to 9:30 am in the departure area.

There will be a wide variety of categories, from child to veteran, including a children’s and adult categories. Distances are 400m, 800m, 1.600 m and 8,000m. In addition, there will be trophies and / or medals to the winners of each category and a technical shirt of the race will be given to all registered.

Finally, note that when the race will be over, there will be children’s entertainment for little ones and Zumba master class. All this together with a toy collection point for anyone who wishes to collaborate depositing toys and these are then distributed by the Red Cross. The only requirements are that the toy is new and non-military character.
